Mindel Summer Jazz arrives this year at the 8th edition and takes place in Mindelo on August 2-3.
After last year's "Tribute pa Tolas", the event brings the theme "Soncent, Soul & Music" this year in a tribute to the city of Mindelo honoring it "in its universal and transversal musical expression that Jazz as well represents, an open city par excellence and Cape Verde's global link to the World. "
The event will take place in the mythical Praça do Liceu Gil Eanes, better known as Praçinha de Liceu Bedje.
The idea is to develop a new concept of jazz village between the emblematic facade now renovated of the Old Lyceum and the facilities of the People's Palace.
The first night of music, on August 2nd, will receive Prêt and Bronk Quartet from Cape Verde, Johny Keys Band feat Djim Djob (USA / CV) and MND Flo from Berklee College of Music (USA).
On Friday, August 3, are expected the ThreeMasUm feat Ivan Medina (CV), Fred Wesley & The New JBs feat Ernie Fields Jr (USA) and, closing Alfredo Rodriguez Trio (Cuba / USA).
