FULL DAY TOUR MINDELO FOR CRUISER CLIENTS
Mindelo: the cultural capital of Cape Verde will amaze you with its unique mixture of Portuguese and English colonial architecture. Colourful houses, a crowded fish market, quiet and shady streets, a fine marina, universities, magnificent viewpoints, excellent food – you would experience all these during a special discovery day, and our local guide will be your connection with friendly inhabitants.
We will pick you up at the harbour of Mindelo, where your cruiser waits anchored. Besides visiting the most important historical monuments of the Old Town and the fish market, our bus with guide will take you around the suburbs to reach the best viewpoints overlooking The City and its Bay, ranked among the ten most beautiful of the world.
Now it is time to discover this amazing island, along the road to Madeiral first. As we get there, a typical Cape Verdean lunch is waiting for us at an ECO-farm. During the welcome cocktail, you would listen about the special agriculture practiced on this dry island. Heading along the Ribeira de Calhau we will have the opportunity to watch the traditional way of life of the small farmers.
The white sandy beaches of the fishing village of Calhau and the dunes of Praia Grande will quickly fill-up the memory cards of your camera, so: get ready!
Along the tour, a stop is planned at Baia das Gatas – famous for the mid-summer international music festival and for the calm waters of its lagoon.
The last stop is on top of the highest mountain of São Vicente – MONTE VERDE (774m), from where you may have an overlooking of the entire island and, as a bonus (if the weather is good), you can see the islands of Santo Antão, Sao Nicolau and Santa Luzia!
We will get back to the harbour at sunset time.
